Chase No-Face

It's really, really sweet. At first I was weirded out by the cat, but it's just so sweet. The odds of a cat that disfigured being adopted and cared for are really almost zero, and it's so sweet to see that someone's been able to look past that and take her in and care for her just like she would any normal cat.

She's a therapy cat, too, which just makes it sweeter.

I'm like almost in tears at this, because you almost never hear about things like this happening.

So, I've started making a list of questions I'll want to ask my host family/ies when I get to Japan, mostly about rules. I only have two so far. "Do I have/When is my curfew" and "Are there any chores you'd like me to help with?" (I translated that second one absolutely horribly. I just changed it to "What chores should I do?". If someone wants to actually offer a translation of that one, I'd appreciate it. xD; I worry that one sounds too... direct. But I was in a hurry. >.>)

What else should I ask? I'm going to go through my day and record everything I use and then see what I'll need to bring with me, maybe I should do the same with things I do, and figure out what I'd need to ask for...

Question to all the people on my flist who have lived in Japan:

The organizer of our exchange made it clear that we have to dress semi-formal for when we go to our schools to pick up our uniforms. I only have one skirt, it's semi-formal, but it falls just (an inch or two, depending on how high I have the waist) above my knees. Is that too short? I plan to buy other skirts, but those would probably be a bit more casual.

I don't want to offend anyone on my first day.
